Welcome to Year 3!

In Year 3, our children start their exciting journey through Key Stage 2, building on the skills and knowledge they developed in Key Stage 1. This year is all about curiosity, creativity, and growing independence.

Our classrooms are a place where every child is encouraged to ask questions, challenge themselves, and take pride in their learning. Through a rich and varied curriculum, we explore new topics in English, Maths, Science, and the wider world, such as Stone Age to Iron Age, Romans, Our North East and Mountains and Volcanoes — always with an emphasis on teamwork, respect, and having fun while we learn.

One of the highlights of Year 3 is a fantastic trip to Segedunum Roman Fort. The children love exploring the ancient site, discovering what life was like for Roman soldiers and taking part in hands-on activities that bring history to life.

We take part in PE sessions on a Thursday morning. Children are expected to come to school wearing PE kit: plain black shorts/joggers/leggings, a plain white PE T-Shirt, a plain black hoodie and black trainers.
